Established in 2005, Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, Inc. (dba Kongsberg Defense US.) is a leader in the United States aerospace and defense industry, providing advanced solutions to the US and its allied nations.
With headquarters in Alexandria, VA, Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, Inc. employs over 250 people in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan.
The Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, Inc. Johnstown, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility has been in production since 2008 and delivered over 20,000 remote weapon stations and roughly 100 remote turrets to its customers. The site employs over 220 people and is Kongsberg’s largest production facility outside of Norway.
In fall 2025, the Johnstown site will celebrate a $10 million facilities expansion including infrastructure, fixtures, tooling and equipment for the US Marine Corps’ Amphibious Combat Vehicle production line.
Also in late 2025, the James City County missile production facility will break ground in Virginia. This site will provide additional production capacity, sustainment and in-country tech refresh capabilities for KONGSBERG’s Naval Strike Missile (NSM) and Joint Strike Missile (JSM). When complete, the site will employ 187 and increase overall US manufacturing capability.
