A Vessel Traffic Information System for the future

The new Port Operations Control Centre of Singapore has been officially commissioned.

Singapore POCC-Changi delivered by Kongsberg Norcontrol ITThe new Port Operations Control Centre of Singapore has been officially commissioned.  Equipped with the state-of-the-art C-Scope System delivered by Kongsberg Norcontrol IT, POCC-Changi plays a critical role in protecting the marine environment and ensuring the safe navigation of vessels in and around Singapore.

Singapore sits strategically on the crossroads of trade and plays an important role as a major transhipment hub. In 2010, vessel arrival tonnage reached 1.92 billion gross tons, making Singapore one of the busiest ports in the world.

Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, Lui Tuck Yew, officially commissioned the new Port Operations Control Centre - Changi (POCC-Changi).
