Skatteboe joins KONGSBERG and Indregard takes over as CEO of KSAT

Skatteboe will move into a new position at KONGSBERG, where he will contribute to the development of the company’s space activities in close collaboration with the new technology division Discovery, including a particular focus on the Space for Defence initiative.

Indregard has been with KSAT for more than 20 years, and has spent over a decade in top executive roles where she has led various interdisciplinary and multinational teams

She brings extensive knowledge of the space domain, combining technical insight with operational experience, strategic leadership, and international commercial focus.

It is an honor to take over the baton from Rolf. KSAT is a global company managed from Northern Norway, and in today’s world, the role the company plays makes a real difference, which is highly motivating. We have skilled employees who deliver services that the world needs, says Marte Indregard.

Rolf Skatteboe

During Rolf Skatteboe’s 25 years at the helm, he has taken KSAT from being a niche provider of ground station services in the north to a global market leader in the international space industry. In parallel to strong growth, the company has built an increasingly broad portfolio of advanced services within Earth Observation and situational awareness, satellite control, and a recent achievement was the contract with NASA to build a ground network for the Artemis lunar program.

– It has been a privilege to lead KSAT from its beginnings to where we are today. When we established the company, we saw opportunities, but the results exceeded all expectations. After such a long time, it feels natural to step down, and I am very pleased that Marte is taking over. This ensures continuity and a continued strong focus on further developing this important field both nationally and internationally, Rolf Skatteboe (image) says.

KSAT is a world-leading provider of ground services for satellites in polar orbit. The company currently employs just under 600 people across multiple locations. KSAT operates the world’s largest commercial ground station for polar-orbiting satellites on Svalbard and has its headquarters in Tromsø.

Indregard is taking over a solid and strong company, which today is Norway’s largest space company. She will formally assume her new position on 26 February.
