Anne Marie Aanerud joined the company in September 2025 and holds the position of Executive Vice President, Government Relations and Communication.

Aanerud has spent most of her career in public service, holding several political positions across two Norwegian governments.. 

She started her career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and later worked as a political advisor in the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget), focusing on foreign and defence policy, strategy, and communication. Her first government appointment was as Political Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture and Food in 2012. 

In 2021, she was appointed State Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, and in 2023, she was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, serving under Defence Minister Bjørn Arild Gram. Her main responsibilities in this role included security policy, the defence industry, and procurement.  

Aanerud holds a BA in Middle Eastern and North African Studies and an MA in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Oslo, graduating in 2009.

In 2015, she was a guest scholar at the George Washington University’s Elliot School of International Affairs and a visiting fellow in the Senate in US Congress.

She has received the Terrorism Consortium Scholarship from the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) and the Robert D. Stuart Fellowship from the Norwegian Atlantic Committee.
