KONGSBERG improves its reputation score from 66 points in 2025 to 70 points in 2026. The result places the company in the “Good Reputation” category for the second year in a row.
“The improvement shows that our communication efforts and increased visibility are contributing to a stronger understanding of what KONGSBERG represents. It is encouraging to see that the Norwegian public increasingly recognises our role as a technology company delivering solutions for defence, security, maritime industry and society as a whole,” says Ivar Simensen, VP Communications at KONGSBERG.
Nationwide perception survey
The Traction Norway survey was presented during Omdømmedagen, organised by the Norwegian communication and public relations agency Apeland.
Traction Norway is a nationwide perception survey covering 50 companies, selected through a nomination process involving the Norwegian population. The survey is conducted by Norstat, which has a panel of more than 100,000 respondents. Companies are evaluated on factors such as quality, leadership, ethics, climate impact and innovation.
This year, the Norwegian mobile payment provider Vipps once again ranked highest in the survey, achieving a score of 91 out of 100.
Strengthened industry rankings
The survey also shows that several major Norwegian industrial companies have strengthened their reputation this year. Among them, KONGSBERG, Hydro and Yara are the only industrial companies ranked in the “Good Reputation” category. Other companies related to sectors such as energy and maritime industry are placed in the category “Moderately good reputation”.
“The Traction survey provides valuable insight into how companies are perceived. Seeing our reputation improve for the second consecutive year reflects the long-term work across the organisation to communicate our role, responsibilities and contributions,” says Anne Marie Aanerud, EVP Government Relations & Communication at KONGSBERG.
The result highlights the collective efforts across the organisation and confirms that KONGSBERG’s work and visibility continue to strengthen trust and reputation in Norway.
