KSAT EXPANDS AGREEMENT TO DELIVER GROUND STATION AS A SERVICE RELATED TO RECEPTION OF DATA FROM EARTH OBSERVING SATELLITES WITH MNOK 280

Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT), a KONGSBERG company, has entered into a contract for delivery of ground station services for data reception and control of optical Earth Observation Satellites. The contract includes an extension of 280 MNOK of an existing contract with a total value of 680 MNOK in the period 2021 – 2026.

Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) and the US based satellite operator Maxar has prolonged and extended an existing contract related to data reception from and control of Maxar existing and coming Earth Observation Satellites.

«The cooperation with Maxar is important for KSAT and this contract strengthens KSAT’s position as the world leading provider of Ground stations as a service. Satellite data reception and control is a key competence for KSAT», said Rolf Skatteboe, President and CEO of KSAT.

The service will be delivered from several ground stations in KSAT network which spans more than 25 locations worldwide, and KSAT will build two new stations in Australia and in Maspalomas, the Canary Islands to support Maxar. The antennas are controlled from the Tromsø Network Operation Centre, (TNOC) located at the Headquarters of KSAT in Tromsø, Norway. The contract will strengthen the company’s position as a world’s leading provider of services related to satellite operation, data reception and control.
