Shiphandling Phase 1 Course
LEARNING OBJECTIVE
This course aim to meet the following overall learning objective(s):
- Obtain knowledge and understanding of forces involved, related to ship handling
- Obtain competence of planning and manual manoeuvring in open sea, narrow waters, and ports
- Improve skills in performing good Bridge Team Cooperation and communication
- Improve knowledge, understanding and skill in use of all propulsion machinery, navigational equipment, thrusters, steering systems and deck equipment involved
- Improve knowledge, understanding and skills in use of anchor(s)
- Improve knowledge, understanding and skills in use of tug(s)
- Obtain knowledge, understanding and skills in use of ROT-technique
TARGET GROUP
Masters, Chief Officers and Junior Officers employed
as OOW on any type of vessels.
