Senior Software Engineer R&D - EchoSounder Team

Join a world-leading marine technology company dedicated to sustainable ocean resource management. As a Software Engineer in our EchoSounder Team, you will develop cutting-edge applications for Ocean Science, Fishery, and Mapping sectors. Your work will directly support global stock estimation and sustainable harvesting through advanced hydroacoustic systems. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain software interfacing with proprietary hydroacoustic sensors with implementation of complex high-performance algorithms. 

  • Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to ensure system performance and reliability. 

  • Participate in agile development, testing, and integration—both in lab environments and aboard vessels. 

  • Work with global software teams to build reusable modules for high-performance applications.  

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Applied mathematics/Related technical field – OR similar professional experience within this field. 

  • Proficiency in modern C#/C++ and multi-threaded programming. 

  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies/tools is advantageous: Linux, Cmake, GPU processing. 

  • Proficiency with modern software engineering methodology, patterns and tools.  

  • Experience in software testing and verification. 

  • Good language skills in both Norwegian and English. 

  • Beneficial with knowledge of or experience with hydroacoustic sensors. 

  • Experience with gamechanger technologies (AI, cloud, 3D) is a plus.   

  • Experience or interest in agile development methodologies is a plus.
