An exciting opportunity awaits you as Scrum Master in Kongsberg Maritime. In this role, you will join the Remote Systems R&D team, which develops cutting‑edge remote and autonomous technologies for the maritime industry.

You will collaborate across different R&D development teams including software, hardware, network, cybersecurity, and testing to deliver innovative solutions for remote and autonomous maritime operations. Your aim is to ensure teams are developing the solutions together in seamless sync. You also take care that the solutions developed by the R&D teams are properly integrated and act as the link between the development teams and the testing team.

You have a positive, product‑oriented approach, and you enjoy solving pioneering challenges. You demonstrate a high level of independence while maintaining an effective team‑player mindset and a strong get‑things‑done attitude.

As a Scrum Master, you will coach and support teams in applying agile principles, remove impediments, enabling transparency, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle. You will facilitate planning, reviews, and retrospectives to keep complex, integrated development efforts on track and aligned with business goals.

Key accountabilities

  • Facilitation, Run Scrum ceremonies (planning, daily scrum, reviews, retrospectives) efficiently.
  • Coaching: Mentors the team and organization on Agile/Scrum practices, self-organization, and conflict resolution
  • Impediment Removal: Identifies and eliminates obstacles blocking the teams progress, often outside their direct control.
  • Servant Leadership: Supports R&D teams by empowering them, rather than directing them.

Qualifications and experience

  • Several years of experience working as a Scrum Master
  • Strong background in software or system development
  • Experience in developing and improving team practices
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant fields
  • Fluent communication skills in English. Norwegian/Swedish/Finnish is a plus

You will

  • Manage backlog and sprint planning, ensuring that sprint goals are clear and well understood.
  • Protects the teams from external interference and promotes Scrum adoption.
  • Plan upcoming sprints together with Product Owners
  • Be results-oriented, with an eye on the horizon for potential risks
  • Communicate in a clear, precise and structured manner
  • Collaborate effectively with others, share knowledge and experience, and support the team and project in achieving their goals
