Project Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen as Project Engineer, responsible for Simulation Analysis in Kongsberg Maritime. In this role, you will be a part of the Advisory Team delivering decision making support and risk analysis for our clients. The projects you will be working on are complex Maritime operations often involving our dynamic positioning system. You will be working as an advisor for external clients and on internal Kongsberg Maritime development projects. The work you do will contribute to the customers decision making and have impact on their operability; optimization of power usage and advising them for safer- and greener operations. You will be part of a global team supporting customers worldwide.

 

Key accountabilities

Your work is to enable clients to optimize operations through;

  • Performing numerical simulations of various and challenging marine operations
  • Reporting on progress and results, and presenting advise to client
  • Dialogue with clients and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Higher technical education (MSc or BSc) preferably within offshore technology, marine technology, cybernetics, structural analysis or similar
  • Competence within hydrodynamic, cybernetics or power management
  • Knowledge about practical marine operations and use of Dynamic Positioning is an advantage
  • Preferably some experience with analysis tools like OrcaFlex, Sima, Simo
  • Some competence with scripting/programming like Python, Matlab, C++, etc.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
