Changes to Kongsberg management

Kongsberg Gruppen ASA is making changes to its group management. These changes are being made to strengthen efforts relating to the space industry and reinforce the legal affairs function.

Harald Aarø, Group Executive Vice President business development and strategy, has been appointed the new Head of the Space Division in Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA). He will leave the corporate group management team and join KDA's management team.

Aarø has been in his existing job since 2015. Before then, he was KDA's Marketing Director and he also has extensive management experience from the maritime industry, McKinsey and the Royal Norwegian Navy.

"Space is a strategic focus area for us and we take part in the entire value chain, from launches to satellite technology, ground stations and the transmission of satellite data. The possible usefulness and market potential of space are becoming steadily clearer in Norway and other countries, and I'm very pleased that Harald has agreed to lead and further industrially develop the space division. I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank Harald for his work up to now and for his ability to identify and run strategic development projects across the group," says Geir Håøy, CEO of Kongsberg Gruppen.
