Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) is awarded a contract for delivering ground station services to the American company Digital Globe.
The service will be delivered from the KSAT Mid Latitude Ground Network (stations between about 30 and 55 degrees latitude). The Ground Stations will be operated from KSAT’s main office in Tromsø. The contract is for 6 years of operation and has an option of 4 more years. The contract value is approx. NOK 650 million. If the options are exercised the value could add up to approx. NOK 1.1 billion.

KSAT is a commercial satellite centre owned 50% by KONGSBERG and 50% by the Department of Trade and Industry through the Norwegian Space Centre.
