Kongsberg Maritime Simulation Shiphandling Simulator for Maine Maritime Academy

On 10 March 2004, Kongsberg Maritime Simulation Inc. signed a contract with Maine Maritime Academy to supply a Polaris shiphandling simulator. This competitively won contract initiates a $1 Million USD five-year program for new simulators and long-term support to reflect advances in simulation technology. The contract scope includes simulation hardware and software for a full-mission "Primary" bridge (bridge A), two "Secondary" visual bridges (bridges B and C), and a navigation training suite consisting of an instructor station and nine (9) student stations. The Polaris simulator includes the latest ship simulation software, ship models and databases, SeaView visual system, and e-Coach exercises.
