International radio breakthrough
The Hungarian Ministry of Defence announced today that Kongsberg Defence Communications (KDC), with its family of Multi-Role Radios, has won Hungary's VHF Radio Project.
KDC was selected through a tendering process that attracted bids from French, German, Israeli and American enterprises. Contract negotiations will commence in the near future. KDC's bid to Hungary was for slightly less than MNOK 700. All indications are that deliveries will take place over a 10-year period. Today's announcement marks an international breakthrough for the family of Multi-Role Radios developed by KDC for the Norwegian Armed Forces, and underlines the international competitiveness of the concept.
