Increased operational windows and safety in diving support vessels

We provide the highest standards in safety, automation, dynamic positioning, and subsea monitoring systems for diving support vessels. We help operators widen operational windows for lower Opex costs, thanks in part to decades of experience serving the offshore energy sector in some of the toughest conditions. We are leaders in autonomous and remote technology, which can be applied to new builds or refits of aging vessels.

Some of our competitive advantages:

  • Increased operational windows thanks to better position control
  • Dedicated ship design services with ready-to-build designs and systems integration
  • K-Pos dynamic positioning systems backed by highly capable algorithms
  • Hybrid solutions that offer up to 20% fuel savings

Modern Diving Support vessels are increasingly complex, performing high complexity work under more demanding conditions.  Their overall performance is therefore crucial for progress and sustainability. Kongsberg addresses these challenges through smarter future proof integration between all systems onboard, robust system design and efficiencies that both reduce cost and enhance performance.

KONGSBERG's solution for Diving Support operations is designed to improve its performance, increasing efficiency, lowering costs, improving safety and reducing the environmental footprint. Better integration of solutions can enable reduced time for installation, commissioning and testing.

Integration of our state of the art Propulsion units, Engines, Deck Machinery and Control and Safety Systems will reduce a number of cost elements for a diving support vessel.

  • Shipyard will save engineering hours, interface meetings, cabling and installation work, and over all reduce the risk in the project
  • Ship designers will be able to tailor their solutions for specific designs and customer requirements together with KONGSBERG. An integrated solution will free up space and reduce weight. This is valid for winches, LARS systems electrical systems and control systems at bridge
  • Owner and operators will reduce OPEX regards to efficient diving support operations. A proven life cycle management system for the delivered solution will in the long run save cost and increase visibility for the uptime of your asset.

The world´s most advanced technology systems are now available in the diving support industry.

Lifecycle support

  • We provide solutions for every stage of your vessel's service life to extend operational capability, improve performance, adopt green technologies, or prepare for new missions. Our global team is committed to you and your project until it is complete, on time and on budget.

  • The Thruster Support Pool (TSP) provides replacement thruster units by exchanging complete shipsets of azimuth and tunnel thrusters, or even just a single thruster, from a pool of refurbished thrusters. As part of planned maintenance, the TSP normally reduces vessel downtime from 21 days to between four and seven days.

  • At Kongsberg Maritime, our aim is to ensure your vessel has maximum uptime without delays in getting diagnostic help. With our remote support tools, KONGSBERG-certified engineers virtually connect to your vessels’ installations and equipment to provide online diagnostic support, troubleshooting, and solutions to your personnel, in real time.
