Kongsberg Maritime's Remote Virtual Services provide your crew with direct, real‑time access to Kongsberg Maritime experts during troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational tasks. Using secure augmented‑reality collaboration tools, support can be delivered wherever your vessel operates, through any supported device.

Remote Virtual Services enable onboard personnel to share a live visual stream with a Kongsberg Maritime service engineer, allowing both parties to view the same parameters simultaneously. Engineers can guide the crew using annotations, audio communication and shared files, helping to diagnose issues, verify conditions, and support maintenance tasks.

The service uses secure augmented‑reality software to ensure efficient collaboration between vessel personnel and our service and support specialists. All sessions are initiated and approved by the crew, providing full control and transparency.

How it works

When a Remote Virtual Service session is initiated, the expert can see exactly what the crew sees, mark or highlight areas for discussion via the visualisation tool, capture high‑resolution images and videos, adjust lighting, and communicate via audio chat. Drawings, images, and other reference files can be uploaded and marked by both the user and the expert during the session.

The collaboration tools ensure that all participants gain a full-picture, common understanding of the issue or task, supporting accurate diagnostics, guidance and resolution.

Your crew can utilise a smartphone, tablet, laptop or remote collaboration headset by installing the Remote Virtual Service application. The support expert sends an invitation to the remote session via SMS or e-mail for quick access.
