Our Remote Configuration Services provide a secure method for certified Kongsberg Maritime engineers to access operator‑station interfaces and assist with configuration tasks, diagnostics, and software changes. Using a Global Secure Network, certified engineers can observe live system behaviour, analyse parameters and collaborate with vessel personnel to resolve issues safely and efficiently.
All remote configuration sessions follow a defined and approved process and are initiated by the crew. A risk analysis and scope of work are agreed with the customer before the support session begins.

How it works
A remote service kit is installed on board, including a pre‑configured router, a malware‑protection computer, and software for the operator stations. The hardware can be installed in a variety of configurations, including table mounting and in a 19” rack.
When the crew initiates a remote support session, Kongsberg Maritime engineers can view the operator station display in real time, mark or highlight areas for discussion, and communicate with the crew via the built‑in chat tool. The collaboration tools ensure that all participants gain the same understanding of the causes and issues to solve while performing troubleshooting and preparing configuration activities.
When a configuration task is identified, risk assessment and remote safe job analysis are conducted in close cooperation with the customer. Once the assessments are completed, the scope of work is defined, and a session has been initiated by the crew, a certified Kongsberg Maritime engineer performs adjustments to the onboard configuration.
