Offshore loading Phase 3 Spread moored is a course aimed for DPOs working onboard shuttle tankers trading in Brazil. The focus is DP field type specific operation with use of
K-Pos DP System and latest spread moored / direct loading functionality.
Target group
Masters, Chief officers and Junior officers employed on shuttle tankers as bridge officers / DPO loading from Tandom and Spread moored installations
Entry requirements
Offshore Loading Ph 3 Spread moored shall be attended two years after completing Phase 2, then every 3rd year (ship company-specific requirements may apply).

•Taut hawser operation
•Transition between operational modes
•Tug assistance
•Fault, emergency and degraded situations during offshore loading operations with use of ASOG as a decision tool
Learning process
All approaches to the loading buoys are carried out by using Kongsberg K-Pos DP System, according to procedures. Simulations also include reconstruction of known DP incidents involving shuttle tankers. The complexity of these exercises will be based on the experience of the person ”in charge” on the bridge simulator. All offshore loading courses are delivered on a K-Sim DNV class A.
