Deck Officer Competence Pre-course

COURSE OBJECTIVE The objective of this course is to give the trainee an introduction to the theory topics according to the NMD`s: Emneplan for Sertifikatprøve for dekks- og maskinoffiserer Iht. STCW regel II og III. TARGET GROUP Deck Officers or others who do not meet the requirement for sailing time in order to renew their competence certificate. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Any Deck officer certificate class, expired or valid. CONTENT Plan and conduct a passage and determine position Maintain a safe navigational watch Regulations Rules at sea Marine pollution Maneuvering Safety of life at sea Communication Ensure safe loading, stowage, care during voyage and unloading of cargoes Carriage of dangerous goods Emergency situations/Distress signals
