These are capture hooks that enable the rig pennant wire to be taken on board an AHTS more safely.
Two remote controlled and hydraulically operated retractable hooks are placed either side of the stern roller of an anchorhandler to capture the pennant wire. They eliminate the risky operation of a crew member standing at the extreme aft end of the vessel hooking the pennant wire manually.
