Kongsberg Maritime signs winch system contract for Britoil Offshore Services’ new anchor handling fleet

Agreement with Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard covers six vessels, with option for two more

We are excited to announce that we have secured a contract with Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard for the delivery of low-pressure hydraulic winch systems for six new 80-ton bollard pull anchor handling vessels being built for Britoil Offshore Services (Britoil). The agreement includes an option for an additional two vessels.

Beeing a leading provider of advanced deck machinery solutions for demanding offshore operations, we are supporting Britoil’s continued investment in high-performance, future-ready anchor handling capabilities. The winch systems will be delivered between Q2 2026 and Q1 2027.

This project continues the collaboration between Kongsberg Maritime and Britoil, highlighting the strength of the company’s deck machinery portfolio in supporting complex offshore operations.

Lester Bok, Regional sales manager, Southeast Asia, Kongsberg Maritime commented: "This agreement reflects our commitment to delivering robust, high-performance equipment tailored to the needs of modern offshore operations. We are proud to support Britoil and Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard with our proven winch systems, and we look forward to contributing to the success of this new fleet."

Mohit Sabharwal, Global Head of Technical for Britoil Offshore Services added: "We are pleased to collaborate with Kongsberg Maritime on this important project for Britoil. Their expertise in offshore deck machinery and their reputation for reliability make them a valuable partner. Together, we are building vessels that will set new standards in anchor handling performance and operational efficiency."
