Kongsberg Maritime has signed a contract with the Brazilian oil service company OSX, a part of EBX Group, to supply an Automation, Control, Electrical & Telecom (ACET)-package on an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) basis for the OSX1 (former Nexus-1) FPSO. The FPSO will operate offshore Brazil to the Brazilian oil company OGX.

Kongsberg Maritime's scope of supply includes design, engineering, manufacturing, testing and supply of all materials, equipment, accessories and tools required for field specific extension of the integrated Automation, Control, Electrical hardware and Telecommunication systems, for installation and operation on the FPSO.

The project will be executed by Kongsberg Maritime Engineering (KME) on behalf of Kongsberg Maritime AS, in close cooperation with partners and BW Offshore which is managing the FPSO modification work for OSX. KME is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime and has since 2008 acted as a contracting solution company specializing in EIT engineering and system integration, on EPC basis with strong focus on project management, contracting engineering and site management. KME offers a coherent engineering and management service based on Kongsberg Maritime's vast technical competence and experience with marine and offshore operations.

"Kongsberg Maritime is emerging as a preferred supplier of ACET packages in the leased FPSO marked. This shows that our strategy of delivering engineering services internationally is appreciated by our customers such as OSX and BWO" comments Tor Erik Sørensen, Executive Vice President - Sales, Marketing & International Operations, Kongsberg Maritime.
