New Offices for KONGSBERG in Holland

As a result of rapid growth during the past few years, Kongsberg Maritime Holland BV proudly witnessed the grand opening of its new and improved offices last week.

Strong precence

The official opening took place at Kongsberg Maritime Holland's new premises at Edisonweg 10 on Tuesday 15th January in the presence of 50 customers, vendors and associates, the Board of Directors and the mayor of Spijknisse, Mrs. Mirjam Salet. The program started with a welcoming speech by General Manager of Kongsberg Maritime Holland Mr. Dag P. Pettersen: "Kongsberg Maritime Holland BV had a very good year in 2007 and is looking towards 2008 with the same optimistic view. The planned expansion in the Europort area over the next years is calling for a strong presence within the ship service. In addition to a very active offshore and mega yacht market, Kongsberg Maritime Holland now has the facility needed to grow along with the customers and secure the best support," said mr. Pettersen.

The Dutch market is very important

Also, Chairman of the Board Tor-Erik Sørensen gave a speech addressing the importance of the Dutch market in connection to the growth and success of Kongsberg Maritime:

"Kongsberg Maritime is a market leader in dynamic positioning systems, automation and surveillance systems, process automation, satellite navigation and hydroacoustics. Important markets include countries with large offshore and shipyard industries. Throughout our company's history, Holland has been very important to us. It is a professional market, with demanding customers, who have greatly contributed to our quality and international success. In particular, we highly appreciate the knowledge and competence we have gained in our cooperation with the acoustic and hydrographic environment. I believe it is fair to say that if you succeed in Holland, you will succeed anywhere," said Mr. Sørensen.

About the new building

The Charge d'Affaires of the Norwegian embassy, Mr. Vegard Kaale was given the honourable task of officially opening the new premises. The guests then enjoyed a lunch followed by a guided tour of the localities including demonstrations of Hydrographic and Simulation products. The new building features 1135 square metres over two floors. The ground floor contains stock, workshop, demo and test areas as well as office space for service engineers while the second floor comprises a reception area, a conference room, a canteen and also office space for sales and administration. Outside the building there is a small green area combined with guest parking and a larger car park for employees in the backyard.

Since its beginning in 1991, Kongsberg Maritime Holland BV has witnessed steady growth but the last three years however, have been a booming period for the company. From being a traditional service company for the merchant fleet in Central Europe the corporation has experienced increased activity within sales and engineering, resulting in the need for larger premises.
