Young@KONGSBERG

Young@KONGSBERG is KONGSBERG’s social and professional network for employees under the age of 33. The initiative brings together young employees across locations and business areas, helping them build connections, strengthen collaboration and establish a strong network early in their careers.

Today, around 1,250 employees under the age of 33 are part of the Young@KONGSBERG target group. The initiative plays an important role in creating an inclusive working environment and supporting KONGSBERG’s ambition to attract, develop and retain young talent.

Established in 2015, Young@KONGSBERG is now managed by one joint board with six members, representing Kongsberg, Kjeller and Moss. The board plans and delivers events and activities for young employees, creating opportunities to meet colleagues, share experiences and build relationships across sites.

Young@KONGSBERG creates an important social arena where young employees can get to know each other across locations and disciplines. It helps strengthen relationships, engagement and a sense of belonging in KONGSBERG.

Throughout the year, Young@KONGSBERG arranges a range of social events and meeting places for young professionals. These activities support employee engagement, community and belonging, especially for new employees who may be new to the region or to KONGSBERG.

One of the most popular annual traditions is the pinnekjøtt evening before Christmas, in addition to other social events that bring young employees together in an informal setting. The ambition is to offer relevant, inclusive and engaging activities that make it easier for young employees to expand their internal network and feel part of the wider KONGSBERG community.
