Digital Twins and Manufacturing Optimisation
FORGE (Factory Operations Resource Governance Engine) focuses on production, operations and industrialisation. Students develop a smart miniature factory and a corresponding digital twin to explore how modern manufacturing systems can be analysed and optimised.
The project addresses topics such as production flow, bottleneck analysis, warehouse management, resource utilisation and Lean methodologies. Students investigate how manufacturing systems operate and develop models and tools that support optimisation and decision-making.
The work is carried out in collaboration with engineering, production and supply-chain environments, providing insight into how complex industrial systems function in practice.
