Job Title: Maritime Simulator Service Engineer

Department: KDI MSIM

Location: Kongsberg Maritime Korea Jeong-gwan Office

 

Overview of position:

This role will liaise between main office and customers from Korea, Asia and other part of the world on all aspects of pre-commissioning/commissioning, maintenance and operation of Kongsberg’s Simulation product range. The position will have the responsibility to plan, execute and have ownership to the teams defined role and mandate.

 

Main Work Tasks:

  • Focus on customer support, commissioning and service on assigned Kongsberg Maritime Simulation product range
  • Maintain good relationship with existing clients
  • Workshop test and technical preparations
  • Proper preparation and execution of work assigned
  • Responsible for generation of service reports, update drawings, cable information database and others
  • Ensure performance are met at all times
  • Assist our sales department with technical issues
  • Liaison between customers and main office on all aspects of support and operation of the systems
  • Act as project engineer and site manager in simulation projects
  • Assist Sales Manager Simulation for product demonstration and sales support
  • Required to undertake ad-hoc duties which may be assigned from time to time

  

Qualifications / Skills:

  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience in maritime engineer
  • Similar working experience in maritime industry with background in IT network, navigation systems and ship automation system
  • Must have excellent co-operative skills, good communication skills in English, result-oriented and self-motivated
  • On-board system process knowledge, experience with distributed control systems, power management
  • Give technical assistance via telephone, email when requested from customers
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge on Marine System and Electronic Tools
  • Competent on Computer System and Network
  • Knowledge of thruster control will be an added advantage
