Hydraulic Design Engineer

We are looking to hire an innovative Hydraulic Design Engineer to join our standard thrusters, US product group team at Kongsberg Maritime Finland OY.

As a Hydraulic Design Engineer, one of your main duties is to design and maintain new and existing thruster units. Most of the design work is done in close collaboration with our product management team but also with other stakeholders. We wish you to be a creative problem solver with good communication skills as you are expected to design new and develop existing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design new hydraulic solutions and products as part of our engineering team
  • Develop and maintain existing products.
  • Technical Support within the engineering team and other internal functions as needed
  • Technical documentation

Qualification and experience

  • Good verbal and written English
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of engineering (e.g. mechanic or hydraulic engineering)
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics and ability to understand hydraulic schemes and symbols
  • Previous experience with 2D and 3D design tools (we use NX), and AutoCAD

  • Proactive, make things happen and possess the ability to work independently.
  • Able to use a methodical and systematic approach, plan and define clear priorities
  • Good in communicating in a clear, precise, and structured way
