Climate Action

We are committed to and acknowledge the need for businesses to take an active role in the transition to a low emission society. To achieve the global climate targets, we must move quickly from words to action.

KONGSBERG is a technology company with relatively low emissions from our direct operations. Therefore, it is our ambition to contribute to ensuring that our value chain reaches its goals by 2050. We are both affected by and contribute to climate change through our operations. Exposure to physical climate risk in all future scenarios is a reality for the Group, although the degree of exposure varies across business areas. We aim to support low‑emission solutions and to contribute actively to the energy transition. Addressing these challenges and leveraging the associated opportunities are essential to achieving strategic growth and sustainable innovation.

Reduction targets

In November 2023, KONGSBERG's climate targets for 2030 were verified by Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Our scope 1 and 2 targets were assessed to be compatible with limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius in accordance with the Paris Agreement. The transition plan was based on four main targets to reduce the climate impact of our operations and to create business opportunities by enabling our customers and other stakeholders to do the same.

Following the demerger of April 2026, and subsequent change in our emission profile, we will revisit and set new updated targets for the group in 2026.

KONGSBERG’s climate reduction targets shall be integral to our company strategy, providing a clear and actionable framework for our emissions reduction efforts. These shall targets guide our planning and operations, ensuring that we contribute effectively to the global effort to combat climate change.
We will continue to develop our transition plans and review our priorities as we progress with our climate reduction programs.
