The SpotScan® Dual is a high-performance, laser-based dynamic positioning reference system designed for precise positioning and station keeping in demanding offshore environments. Featuring two operating modes—SpotScan for wind turbine tracking without targets and SpotTrack for multi-target tracking with retro-reflectors—this versatile system delivers robust, accurate, and reliable reference data for dynamic positioning (DP) operations. Its advanced features and user-friendly design make it ideal for offshore wind service vessels and other challenging marine applications.
Dual-mode versatility
Operate in SpotScan mode for targetless wind turbine tracking using motion-stabilized LIDAR, or switch to SpotTrack mode for advanced multi-target tracking with retro-reflectors. Seamless mode switching ensures adaptability for various offshore scenarios.
Robust performance in dynamic conditions
High vertical and bearing resolution, roll/pitch stabilization, and a wide vertical field of regard enable reliable object recognition and tracking—even at steep elevation angles and in high-dynamic environments. Integration with a Motion Reference Unit (MRU) further enhances accuracy in extreme conditions.
User-friendly and low maintenance
The onboard Processing Unit allows intuitive operation and automatic data recording, while all moving parts are enclosed within the sensor housing to minimize mechanical wear. The system is easy to install, operate, and maintain, reducing overall lifecycle costs.
