High‑capacity, standards‑compliant AIS network backbone

AIS Network Management is a high‑capacity, state‑of‑the‑art AIS backbone designed to handle and store real‑time AIS data at scale. It is fully compliant with ITU, IEC, and IALA recommendations, supporting up to ~80,000 AIS stations and ~500 users per node. Built on commercial‑off‑the‑shelf (COTS) technology, the modular architecture simplifies installation, upgrades, and long‑term maintenance while ensuring reliability for mission‑critical operations.

Flexible data routing, filtering, and long‑term storage

The system receives AIS data from base stations and external feeds, then filters, routes, and distributes messages to multiple destinations simultaneously – including Traffic Display, web clients, external systems, and third‑party applications. 
AIS data is stored in real‑time databases, archived efficiently for multi‑year retention, and supported by query and replay tools – making the system ideal for analysis, investigation, and incident review.

Secure, low‑latency performance for operational excellence

AIS Network Management is designed for high throughput and low latency (<250 ms), enabling effective fusion of AIS and radar data and supporting time‑critical decision‑making. 

Role‑based access control, Active Directory integration, IP‑based restrictions, and optional 2‑way SSL authentication ensure strong security across both network management and data streams. The system also supports Virtual AtoN, Tidal, and MetHyd data transmission when combined with CSAM.
