Single beam mapping echo sounders

KONGSBERG offers two systems for single beam mapping: EA440 and EK80.

EA440 is the first choice for smaller vessels, typically operating in shallow waters. The most frequently used setup is a combined 38 & 200 kHz transducer that allows for a compact installation. An all-in-one solution with two side-scan sonars in combination with a 15kHz transducer for simple sub-bottom profiling and a 200 kHz transducer for high-resolution bathymetry is also available, along with a selection of other transducers.  See Application note (pdf) for more information.

EK80 is the recommended solution for larger vessels, often in combination with ADCP’s and other systems from Kongsberg. EK80 Single beam systems can be upgraded to split beam system with calibrated backscatter by license when split beam capable transducers are selected for the system.

Both EA440 and EK80 use the same Wideband Transceiver (WBT) that has been the world-leading choice for both scientific and industrial applications for more than a decade.
