Sensor Fusion and Autonomous Drone Tracking
Lone Wolf develops an autonomous platform based on the Husarion Panther, equipped with cameras, LiDAR and a Laser Range Finder (LRF). The platform is designed for autonomous navigation, drone tracking and remote operation through a dedicated command station.
Students work with several key technologies in robotics and autonomy. The drone-tracking system combines machine learning-based object detection using YOLO models, classical computer vision algorithms and sensor fusion. Data from cameras, laser range finders, vehicle motion and turret positions are combined using Kalman filtering to estimate and track targets in real time.
The project also includes autonomous navigation using LiDAR, IMU, GNSS and SLAM-based localisation and mapping. Students gain experience with software development, algorithm design, mechanical design, integration and testing of complex autonomous systems.
