Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS)

KSAT pioneered Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) and operates more than 280 antennas across 26 sites worldwide, delivering reliable TT&C, high‑rate downlink, and low‑latency data delivery for missions in all major orbits. The network is continuously expanded and modernized to meet evolving commercial, governmental, and defence requirements.

At the core of KSAT’s capabilities are three interconnected polar ground stations: Tromsø (69°N), Svalbard’s SvalSat (78°N), and the TrollSat Station in Antarctica (72°S). These are complemented by a robust mid-latitude network, optimally located to ensure reliable, real-time access to satellites in all key orbits.

Mission Operations

Delivery of fully integrated satellite mission operations, covering satellite control, mission control, flight dynamics, and data management. Operations are performed by a highly trained multi‑mission team supported by automated monitoring and alerting systems that oversee spacecraft health throughout the entire lifecycle. Validated flight‑dynamics capabilities -including orbit determination, propagation, station‑keeping, and maneuver planning ensure precise and reliable operations. A secure, modern technical architecture enables lights‑out monitoring, rapid anomaly response, and efficient payload tasking, while AI‑optimized scheduling and a flexible ground‑segment interface support assured coverage, low latency, and fast cue‑to‑effect for time‑critical missions.

KSAT is jointly owned by Space Norway AS and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS, each holding a 50% stake. Space Norway is a state-owned enterprise under the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, originally established in 1995 as a subsidiary of the Norwegian Space Centre
