The Simrad PX15 system processes gear behaviour data in real time and, through advanced algorithms, generates concrete, actionable recommendations: trawl speed adjustment, optimal warp length, and gear configuration corrections. The result is a tool that turns data into decisions, improving the efficiency of every haul. The PX15 software is compatible with PXC Trawl sensors, PX miniDepth and PX Seine Sounder sensors, providing complete coverage for both purse seine and trawl operations. For telemetry, the PX15 includes the SR15 receiver.

The Simrad PX15 integrates advanced hydrodynamic modelling with real-time sensor inputs to deliver a precise evaluation of trawl performance. By combining user-defined gear parameters, such as rigging geometry, net dimensions, and configuration, with live measurements including door spread, pitch, roll, depth, and geometry, the system continuously calculates both theoretical and actual performance values. This comparison enables accurate assessment of gear efficiency, identification of deviations, and data-driven optimisation of fishing operations under real conditions.

The "Suggestion" functionality
The Suggestion feature acts as an intelligent onboard assistant, continuously analysing gear performance and highlighting when key parameters deviate from optimal conditions. When it detects an issue, the system provides clear, actionable guidance to improve efficiency. For example, if it identifies excessive door roll due to too much warp deployed, the system will recommend gradually reducing warp length until the optimal angle is restored, ensuring stable gear behaviour and maximising catch performance.
The PXC Sensor family
The Simrad PXC sensors represent the new generation of the SIMRAD range. We have designed them to offer advanced functionality to vessels that previously couldn't access this level of technology. The sensor’s performance-to-cost ratio makes them the benchmark choice for coastal and near-shore fleets. The PXC sensors include built-in charging functionality for safe, efficient battery management and direct 24 VDC charging capability. This allows you to recharge sensors quickly by applying power directly to the charging plug.
