As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the global deployment of Underwater Acoustic systems, involving the installation and commissioning of these systems on various vessels and within shipyards across the globe. Your responsibilities will extend to servicing and maintaining the installed systems on sailing ships and offshore installations. Additionally, you will provide in-house technical support and remote assistance to both our external and internal customers.

Key Responsibilities

Global Deployment:

• Commissioning, testing, and servicing of underwater acoustic systems worldwide.
• Installation and commissioning on vessels and within shipyards.

Technical Support:

• Provide on-call and remote service, including telephone, email, and remote connection support to our customers.
• Supervise and assist operators onboard vessels.
• Offer in-house technical support to both external and internal customers.

Customer Interaction:

• Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, representing KONGSBERG with professionalism and expertise.
• Deliver excellent customer support, addressing issues promptly and effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background:

• Engineering Degree or equivalent (B.Sc/B.Eng) in electronics, instrumentation, computer science, mechatronics, robotics, marine science, geology, geophysics, or hydrography.

Skills and Experience:

• Good IT/PC/network skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, both oral and written.
• Highly motivated for worldwide support activities.
• Experience in the maritime industry, including projects involving maritime system installation, ocean science, marine geophysics, and marine surveying.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
• Proficient computer literacy.

Personal Attributes:

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good customer support and people skills.
• Willingness to travel, often at short notice.
