KONGSBERG to deliver Remote Weapon Systems to Poland

Kongsberg Gruppen ASA (‘KONGSBERG’) has signed a contract valued at about NOK 700 million with South Korean defence manufacturer Hyundai-Rotem Company.

The company will deliver PROTECTOR RS4 Remote Weapon Stations (RWS) as part of the K2 programme to the Polish Armed Forces.

The contract covers the supply of RS4 systems for three variants of the K2 platform:

  • K2 Main Battle Tank (MBT)
  • K2 Armored Recovery Vehicle (ARV)
  • K2 Combat Engineering Vehicle (CEV)

Deliveries of the first systems for vehicle integration are scheduled to begin in spring 2027. The contract includes the delivery of an Integrated Product Support (IPS) package covering initial spare parts, training, and other support services.

“This contract further strengthens the long-standing cooperation between KONGSBERG and Hyundai Rotem Company and reinforces KONGSBERG's position as a leading supplier of advanced remote weapon systems for international defence programmes,” said Kjetil Reiten Myhra, Executive Vice President, KONGSBERG, and President of the Defence Systems division.
