The turnkey ground station will provide IMGW with a complete capability for reception, processing, and distribution of remote sensing satellite data, covering everything from antenna systems to advanced data exploitation tools. Installation of the system will be performed in Kraków in autumn 2026, and the contract includes a one-year warranty covering equipment and services.
Designed as a flexible, multi-mission solution, the system will enable IMGW to receive and process data from a wide range of satellites, including the Copernicus Sentinel missions and key meteorological missions such as SNPP, JPSS, METOP, and EPS-SG. The delivery leverages KONGSBERG’s MEOS™ technology portfolio, combining high-performance antenna infrastructure, advanced signal processing, and scalable software for data acquisition, archiving, analysis, and distribution. The solution also includes automated processing of Sentinel-1 data into ESA-compatible products, as well as interactive tools for exploiting Sentinel data. Built-in monitoring and reporting capabilities will support both local and remote operations, enabling efficient system management and detailed data quality assessment.

The new system builds on a strong foundation of collaboration between the two organizations. It is functionally equivalent to a previous MEOS™ delivery completed in Poland in 2020, which has been successfully operated and maintained under a five-year service and support agreement. This follow-on contract reflects continued confidence in KONGSBERG’s solutions and long-term partnership approach.
With this contract, IMGW will further strengthen its ability to access critical satellite data, supporting improved weather forecasting, environmental monitoring, and climate analysis for Poland.
