KONGSBERG and Logipix International Corp. to advance airport airside solutions

Kongsberg Gruppen ASA (‘KONGSBERG’) and Logipix International Corp. (‘Logipix’) have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand their existing cooperation, align Logipix technology with KONGSBERG’s airport solutions, and jointly pursue opportunities serving airport airside customers.

The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation between the companies on selected airport opportunities. The MoU builds on existing cooperation between KONGSBERG and Logipix, including the use of Logipix imaging technology for specific remote and digital tower applications.

Logipix offers ultra-high-resolution panoramic imaging, low-latency video, AI-powered computer vision, sensor fusion, and augmented-reality capabilities developed for airside monitoring. Its imaging technology includes solutions supporting 25-frame-per-second video for remote and digital tower applications. Potential applications include enhanced situational awareness, object detection and tracking, operational monitoring, and decision support.

“KONGSBERG is committed to helping airports strengthen situational awareness and support safe, efficient operations through adaptable, mission-critical technology. Logipix imaging technology is already supporting specific requirements within our remote and digital tower portfolio. This MoU builds on that cooperation and gives us a framework to explore additional applications of Logipix’s imaging and analytical capabilities and create additional value for customers on opportunities we pursue together,” said Hans Lie, Vice President Market & Sales at KONGSBERG.

“KONGSBERG brings extensive airport-domain knowledge, systems-integration expertise and a strong record of delivering technology for demanding operational environments. By aligning our high-resolution imaging, sensor-fusion and AI-assisted monitoring technology with KONGSBERG’s capabilities, we believe there is a significant opportunity to provide airside customers with a more complete operational picture,” said Mike Broggie, chief operating officer of Logipix International Corp.
