Smashing AUV records

Kongsberg Discovery is excited to announce another successful milestone reached in the development of HUGIN Endurance following a record setting multi-week fully autonomous mission. After receiving a final navigation update from a pre-deployed transponder 10 hours into the dive, the 8-ton, 40 ft, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) operated completely independent of all human interaction and with no external navigation aiding for the duration of the sortie. This mission was conducted at depths ranging from 50m to 3400m and met the advertised 1,200 nautical mile range. Most impressive of all, was that HUGIN Endurance returned with a position error of approximately 0.02% of total distance traveled!

AUV Demonstrations

Kongsberg Discovery successfully completed in-water demonstrations of the HUGIN Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) as part of the commercial evaluation of Large Diameter Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (LDUUV) systems by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) and the U.S. Navy.

Mission accomplished for the world's first HUGIN Endurance

Kongsberg Discovery is pleased to announce that the first production system of our revolutionary long-range Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) HUGIN Endurance has completed factory acceptance testing.

Argeo

Ocean surveying and inspection specialist Argeo Subsea, CSI Nordics and Kongsberg Discovery have signed a three-party Certificate of Delivery and Acceptance for a new HUGIN Superior AUV. The agreement, confirmed at Oceanology International in London, supports Argeo’s ambitious fleet expansion plans, as the firm looks to build the world’s most advanced AUV fleet, with seven high specification units. Argeo already has one HUGIN Superior in service.  CSI Nordics, a subsidiary of CSI Leasing, one of the largest independent equipment leasing in the world, will purchase the unit from Kongsberg Discovery, entering into a long-term leasing agreement with Argeo.

SAS Target Assistant

The Norwegian ocean technology company Kongsberg Discovery introduces new analysis tool developed in partnership with underwater imaging specialist Cathx Ocean that radically reduces the time and effort required to detect and classify objects of interest in seabed surveys undertaken by Kongsberg's market leading HUGIN autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), reducing costs for survey owners and freeing up valuable resources to focus on more important tasks.

India Commission

Saturday 3rd of February INS Sandhayak was commissioned at the Naval Dockyard in Viskhapatnam, by the Minister of Defence Mr. Rajnath Singh.
