Protecting critical maritime infrastructure

The total solution

In an era where maritime systems are increasingly connected and exposed to evolving threats, safeguarding critical infrastructure is essential.

KONGSBERG is uniquely positioned to deliver fully integrated maritime solutions by combining world-class technology developed in-house across the entire operational domain. With advanced sensors for the subsea environment, space-based satellite systems, and terrestrial capabilities, KONGSBERG brings all technologies together into one coherent operational picture.

As a system integrator, we fuse data from our own sensors and third-party systems to enable secure sharing of critical information between multiple stakeholders. The solution is scalable and flexible, allowing it to be tailored to specific operational requirements.

Ultimate situational awareness

Our solution provides ultimate situational awareness for both tactical operations and strategic planning. It can be tailored for military organizations and adapted to meet the needs of port authorities, coastal administrations, inland waterways authorities, and offshore operators. The system is scalable, hence suitable for surveillance in smaller ports and single offshore installations to larger complex systems covering coastal and ocean areas.

Seamless integration of sensors on one unified platform, from seabed to space

Our solutions are sensor- and technology agnostic, enabling seamless integration of sensors across all domains, including space, terrestrial, and subsea. Radar, AIS, EO/IR cameras, sonar, satellite imagery, and underwater sensors are fused into a single system to provide a complete and accurate situational picture.

KONGSBERG’s maritime security solution is delivered through one unified platform designed for operational efficiency. Historical data, real-time information, and predictive analytics are combined to support informed decision-making across all phases of an operation.

Unparalleled level of security and insight

We deliver advanced insight and decision support through behavior analysis that combines historical data with real-time information and predictive analysis. AI-driven analytics identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in maritime activity, enabling early detection of potential threats and proactive risk management.

By establishing a clear pattern of life, the system delivers real-time and predictive insight that strengthens situational understanding and supports confident decision-making. This enables timely response to abnormal behavior such as dark ships, loitering, or unauthorized activity in restricted areas.

Testbed facility

KONGSBERG’s Oslofjord Critical Maritime Infrastructure Protection Testbed, located in Horten, demonstrates one example of how an integrated maritime security solution can be configured and applied in real operational conditions. Set in a live maritime environment, the facility brings together satellite data, coastal surveillance, seabed sensors, and autonomous underwater systems to illustrate how continuous monitoring, threat detection, and response can be achieved across the full maritime domain.

The centre can be visited and is open to partners across sectors, including energy operators, defence agencies, research institutions, and regulators. It provides a shared arena to experience the technology in practice, test and validate solutions, rehearse response procedures, and explore how similar solutions can be tailored to protect critical maritime infrastructure from seabed to space.

Explore the products and solutions that power this environment, designed to detect vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and strengthen the backbone of global maritime operations.
