Join us onboard the 111-year-old tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl

On October 20th, we are hosting an event onboard the ship that is on the One Ocean Expedition, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness and sharing knowledge about the ocean’s vital role in a sustainable future. Over the course of a year, the Statsraad Lehmkuhl will visit key ports across the North Atlantic, Arctic, Caribbean, and Pacific, engaging communities and spotlighting ocean science and sustainability.

2:00 - 3:00 PM: Panel Discussion - The Pacific Northwest Connection: U.S. and Canada Maritime History, Innovation, and Ocean Technology

This special panel brings together experts from both sides of the U.S.–Canada border to explore the rich maritime history and evolving partnerships that define the Pacific Northwest. Panelists will discuss cross-border collaboration in ocean technology, fisheries, renewable energy, and the Blue Economy, while highlighting the role of academia, government, and industry in driving innovation. The session will also address the challenges and opportunities of working across borders to build a more sustainable ocean future.

3:00 - 5:00 PM: Reception - Building Bridges Across Borders

Following the panel discussion, guests are invited to a networking reception on the main deck. This gathering will bring together leaders from business, academia, and government to foster dialogue and explore new opportunities for cross-border collaboration in the maritime sector. Set against the backdrop of the One Ocean Expedition, the reception offers a unique space to connect with peers, share ideas, and strengthen partnerships that support innovation, sustainability, and the growth of the Blue Economy.
