Software Application Engineer

You will be joining the organization at a time when digital innovation is key to the success of the company, and we want people to help us shape this journey. As a Software Application Engineer – Control Systems, you are responsible for developing new or adapting existing software for our control system contracts and development projects. The main task is to work with graphical interface for our applications with touch screens and you therefore need to be used to graphic programming in Java / NetBeans. You will also work with the development and adaptation of other application software, which takes place at block level in AutoCAD. Knowledge in C and Linux is also preferred. 

In this role you will work in close collaboration with contract managers, other application engineers, suppliers and our customers. Your main task will be to customize software according to individual customer requirements. In this role you will also provide technical support to our sales and service organization when necessary.

Qualifications and experience

To succeed in this position, you have a degree in engineering, within the field of electronics and ideally previous experience in development and software design for automation systems & graphic presentations/user interfaces. General experience of electrical design and marine operations is an advantage. Additional knowledge/experience in: AutoCad, Java/Netbeans is required and C & Linux preferred.

Due to the nature of our international customer and supplier base, a high level of both oral and written English, is necessary. Communication skills in other languages are advantageous.
