Operators for Missile Production Training
Global Production Training – Building Expertise Across Borders
An exciting opportunity has arisen to contribute to missile production training at KONGSBERG’s global sites.
Do you have the expertise, commitment, and ability to develop others? We are looking for someone who can share their knowledge and provide training across the complete Naval Strike Missile (NSM) and Joint Strike Missile (JSM) missile assembly process, from start to finish.
This position will be part of a newly established department within Strategic Production in Division Missiles & Aerostructures (DMA), responsible for training personnel in Norway and across KONGSBERG’s global sites. Training will be provided to both Norwegian and international production employees.
The role also involves developing, maintaining, and continuously improving training materials and methods in close collaboration with production management. During periods of lower training demand, you will support the production team in Norway.
DMA is seeking skilled and experienced operators to support global production training in areas including complete NSM missile assembly, coating, and quality inspection activities.
You will become part of a dedicated team responsible for training production operators at KONGSBERG-affiliated sites internationally. Your contribution will be essential in ensuring consistently high standards of training and, in turn, strengthening production capabilities, technical expertise, and collaboration across international locations.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake domestic and international travel as required.
Provide technical and practical training at KONGSBERG’s national and global sites.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company processes and procedures relevant to the training provided.
Collaborate closely with operators, quality inspectors, and manufacturing engineers to ensure high-quality training and efficient production.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of work processes and production methods.
Perform product assembly at KONGSBERG locations, both domestically and internationally, depending on assignments and business requirements.
Serve as a professional and exemplary role model for the personnel receiving training.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes
A relevant vocational or trade qualification, preferably as an Industrial Mechanic, Industrial Assembly Technician, or within another relevant technical discipline. Relevant professional experience may compensate for the absence of formal vocational qualifications.
Experience from KONGSBERG production environments within missile production.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities and tasks.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, combined with a positive and team-oriented approach.
A structured and methodical approach to work, with the ability to consistently follow established processes and procedures.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Excellent communication and instructional skills, with a demonstrated ability to transfer technical knowledge effectively.
Good digital proficiency.
Willingness and flexibility to undertake both short- and long-term travel assignments.
What We Offer
At KONGSBERG, you will become part of a highly skilled and inclusive working environment with excellent opportunities for professional development. You will have the opportunity to work both in Norway and internationally with advanced technology products in modern, well-maintained production facilities.
The position will be based in Kongsberg.
In addition, we offer:
Competitive salary and employment conditions.
Attractive pension and insurance schemes.
Employee share program.
Flexible working hours.
Access to fitness facilities.
Holiday cabin rental and other employee benefits.
Access to an innovation center and exciting professional development opportunities within a leading technology environment.
