Electro-Mechanical Production Assembler

Are you looking to elevate your technical skills and build a long-term career by helping us build and deliver great sonar technology used in underwater robotics, sustainable fishing and infrastructure inspection projects?

At Kongsberg Discovery Canada Ltd., we're redefining what's possible beneath the surface. As a global technology leader, we develop cutting-edge solutions that support sustainable fisheries, underwater robotics, marine research, and ocean exploration. Our innovative sub sea technologies help customers operate more safely, efficiently, and sustainably in some of the world's most challenging environments.

At KONGSBERG, we believe that our people are the driving force behind our success. Through collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to excellence, we're solving complex challenges and developing technologies that are protecting people and planet.

We are seeking a Electro-Mechanical Production Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.

In this role, you won't just follow a routine—you will actively expand your technical capabilities through hands-on training in advanced mechanical, electrical, and sonar device assembly. Working alongside experienced technicians and engineers, you will play a vital role in launching high-quality instrumentation while directly contributing to our culture of continuous improvement and collaborative learning.

Key Responsibilities

As you grow with us, your daily impact will focus on three core pillars:

Precision Assembly & Technical Execution

  • Build Complex Systems: Assemble, inspect, and test connectors, PCB assemblies, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and advanced sonar heads.
  • Precise, intricate work: Perform high-quality manual soldering, alongside wire crimping, on small form-factor assemblies
  • Advanced Processes: Safely handle, mix, and apply chemical potting compounds using standard fume hoods and safety protocols.

Quality Assurance & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Own Quality: Inspect your work and completed assemblies throughout the production cycle to ensure zero defects and maintain rigorous performance standards.
  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Coordinate actively with Planning, Materials, Engineering and Quality teams

Continuous Learning & Process Optimization

  • Drive Efficiency: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) to reduce waste, optimize workflows, and document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) or Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Cross-Training: Embrace opportunities to cross-train across various production areas, building your internal versatility and flexibility.
  • Safety First: Maintain a pristine, organized workspace, championing all safety policies and workplace compliance guidelines.

What You Will Bring

This role is perfectly designed for someone with a solid foundational background who is eager to scale their skill set across diverse products and functions

Essential Requirements

  • Experience:  Minimum of 2 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, electronics manufacturing, or equivalent applied technical learning.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong hands-on experience with electronics assembly, manual soldering, wire crimping, and general hand/power tools.
