Since joining the GSC Program in July 2024, KONGSBERG has worked closely with
Australian suppliers to integrate locally manufactured products and capabilities into
its global supply chain. The program has enabled Australian companies to compete
for international opportunities while supporting the growth of advanced
manufacturing and highly skilled jobs.
Over the past two years, KONGSBERG has achieved significant milestones, including
securing export contracts for Australian-manufactured Naval Strike Missile (NSM)
Coastal Defence command and control consoles and NSM launchers destined for
European allies. These exports demonstrate Australia’s ability to manufacture
complex, world-class defence capabilities that meet the demanding standards of
international customers.
John Fry, Managing Director of Kongsberg Defence Australia, said the anniversary
highlighted the value of long-term investment in Australian industry.

Joining the Global Supply Chain Program was about more than becoming another participating prime - it was about creating genuine, long-term export opportunities for Australian businesses and providing diversity and resilience into KONGSBERG’s global supply chain.
John Fry, Managing Director of Kongsberg Defence Australia
“Two years on, we have demonstrated that Australian industry can successfully
deliver advanced defence capability into KONGSBERG’s global programs. Our local suppliers are proving they can compete on quality, innovation and reliability with the very best in the world.”
“Our ambition is to ensure Australian suppliers become enduring partners within
KONGSBERG’s global supply chain,” Mr Fry said.
KONGSBERG Australia’s GSC Program Manager, Erin Hamblin confirmed demand
for advanced defence capability continues to grow internationally and Australia is
well positioned to become a trusted exporter of high-technology defence systems and components.
“The Global Supply Chain Program continues to provide Australian companies with opportunities to access international markets through participating defence primes, helping build a more resilient, competitive and export-focused Australian defence industry."
