Sponsorships and Charitable Donation
At KONGSBERG, we are committed to building positive relationships and investing in the communities where we operate. Through transparent and ethical sponsorships and charitable donations, we aim to make a meaningful difference in society. Our objective is clear: support initiatives that benefit our communities while upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
Across the communities in which we operate, individuals and organizations dedicate time, effort, and creativity to building activities that foster learning and inclusion. These are the arenas where young people explore their talents, where communities come together, and where ideas grow.
Each year, KONGSBERG contributes funding to local initiatives that reflect our values and long-term vision. Whether it’s a student technology project, a youth sports program, or a cultural event that strengthens community ties — we support those who share our passion for knowledge, innovation, and development.
We believe that creating value goes beyond our core business. It means giving back — especially in the places where our people live and work. Through our sponsorships and donations, we want to be a partner to those working on the ground to make a difference.
We prioritize projects based in areas where KONGSBERG has a local presence, and we look for initiatives that are inclusive, forward-looking, and aligned with our values.
The application form is available year-round, but applications are evaluated twice a year (April and October), with funding awarded in June and November.
You’ll find the application form further down on this page. Before submitting, we encourage you to review the FAQ section below — it includes important guidance and tips to ensure your application is well-prepared and aligned with our criteria.
Frequently asked questions
We welcome applications from a variety of organizations, provided they align with our criteria. Eligible applicants include registered non-profit entities such as clubs, associations, foundations, educational institutions, and other community organizations. All projects must be affiliated with an organization that holds a valid organization number. Please note that we do not accept applications from individuals.
We provide support in two main forms:
- Sponsorships, where KONGSBERG receives recognition or partnership benefits in return (e.g. logo placement or naming rights).
- Charitable donations, which are given with no expectations of return and are intended to support a good cause.
Support can be provided as monetary contributions, in-kind donations (such as equipment, access to expertise, or use of facilities), or a combination of both. The type of support depends on the specific needs of the project and its potential impact.
We prioritise initiatives in the following areas:
- Education and technology
- Sports (particularly youth sports)
- Culture and heritage
- Schools and student projects
We give special consideration to projects located in communities and regions where KONGSBERG has an active presence. Initiatives that promote innovation, sustainability, and positive societal impact are also highly valued.
