Kongsberg Gruppen Takes First Place in the Universum Reputation Index

KONGSBERG has been ranked number 1 in the category “Industry and Manufacturing” and number 4 overall across all categories in a new reputation survey conducted by Universum. Only companies with significant familiarity among respondents were evaluated.

“We are very proud to be at the top of this prestigious list. In an uncertain time, when Norway and Europe see the need to strengthen their defence capabilities, it is especially important to communicate clearly about what we do and why we exist,” says Ivar Simensen, Vice President Communication at KONGSBERG.

The Universum Reputation Index (URI) assesses Norwegian companies based on how they are perceived by students. In the survey, reputation is defined as the company’s overall position in society, as evaluated by a knowledgeable and forward-looking audience.

A key finding in the URI is the connection between visibility, familiarity, and reputation. Only companies that have been visible over time are included in the evaluation—and only those that respondents know well are assessed on pure reputation strength. That KONGSBERG ranks near the very top among 175 Norwegian companies is therefore a clear signal that our messages about who we are, what we do, and how we contribute to society are reaching the public.
