Advanced thruster and winch technology for Med Marine’s next-generation tugs

Kongsberg Maritime has signed a significant contract with Turkish shipbuilder and leading tugboat operator Med Marine to supply US series azimuth thrusters and a combination of electric and hydraulic towing winches for nine new tug designs. The agreement includes Med Marine’s new ‘VoltRA’ all-electric tug, which will be built at the company’s Ereğli Shipyard, renowned for its modern infrastructure and craftsmanship.

Kongsberg Gruppen (OSE: KOG) leverer en vekst på 12 prosent i tredje kvartal sammenlignet med samme kvartal i fjor. Veksten var drevet av 38 prosent økning i driftsinntekter i Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace hvor det var god økning i leveranser både knyttet til missil og luftvern. Alle forretningsområder leverte solid ordreinngang, med en book/bill over 1 i kvartalet. Kontrakter knyttet til tårnløsninger, integrerte fartøysleveranser til nybyggingsmarkedet og autonome undervannsfarkoster var viktige drivere for ordreinngangen i kvartalet.
