KONGSBERG won first prize for the best review of corporate governance in its annual report. The prize was awarded by the Norwegian Corporate Governance Committee (NUES). The Committee's decision is based on a review of all of the statements that listed companies presented on corporate governance in connection with their annual reports for 2004.

The jury's grounds for the award stated that KONGSBERG's annual report provides an overall review of corporate governance that is clear and well thought through. Importance was also attached to the fact that KONGSBERG discussed all the points in the Recommendation on Corporate Governance.

The jury is of the opinion that the Group's presentation makes it easy for shareholders as well as readers in general to understand how the Group organises its corporate governance efforts.

Arild Orgland of NUES has headed the efforts to select a winner. He says that he "hopes KONGSBERG's report will be an inspiration for other listed companies that want to improve their corporate governance reports."
