Air defence contract worth MNOK 210

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS has signed a contract worth MNOK 210 with Raytheon of the US, as part of a Raytheon contract with the US Army. In turn, the US Army has a contract with Turkey, the end user of the equipment.

This contract represents the remaining value of the contract signed in December 2002. Phase 1 of this contract was worth MNOK 60, making the total MNOK 270.

KONGSBERG will be providing components for upgrading the command and control units of the HAWK air defence system.

Turkey is the fifth NATO member to choose air defence command and control solutions from KONGSBERG, since the group joined forces with Raytheon in 1996. KONGSBERG's accumulated orders for air defence systems amount to approximately MNOK 2000. More countries are expected to opt for KONGSBERG/Raytheon systems in future.
